When you would need a crown
We use crowns – either a porcelain or gold alloy – for two reasons. Firstly, to strengthen or rebuild a weak or broken tooth. But secondly, a crown can be used to also improve your smile – should you wish to change either the colour or shape of your teeth.
How does it work?
Depending on where in your mouth you need the crown, a dentist will either recommend a porcelain or gold crown (gold crowns are stronger on the back, molar teeth). Then the dentist will determine the colour of the porcelain crown (you may want a colour lighter than the current colour of your teeth), especially if it’s for your front teeth.
What Mathee Dental Studio will do for you
Our first step is to remove all the weak areas of the tooth where the crown will be placed. Then we’ll take an impression of the tooth and send it off to a dental technician who will make the crown over the following two weeks. During this time, you will have a temporary crown to protect the tooth. At the next appointment after two weeks the crown will be bonded into its position, and you can flash your new smile immediately.
We know many people make use of crowns to improve the appearance of their teeth. At Mathee Dental Studio, we ensure your crown is perfect – so that your smile also meets perfection.
