When you would need oral surgery
There are several reasons why you might need oral surgery. At Mathee Dental Studio, we usually require a surgical procedure to remove impacted teeth.
Wisdom teeth are sometimes known to cause pain, swelling and discomfort. Wisdom teeth develop and try to erupt at an older age (18 – 20 years) and sometimes there is just not enough space for them and they may become impacted with subsequent severe discomfort, infection and swelling. When this happens, you may need oral surgery to remove the teeth.
You may also need oral surgery to remove lesions, or to remove a tight frenum under the tongue (tongue-tie) or under the lip (frenectomy).

When it comes to impacted wisdom teeth, Mathee Dental Studio will recommend patients to have them surgically removed. We’ll ensure the surgery takes place in a safe environment, with all the gentle care that we’re known for.
